The Malaysia Lin Chamber of Commerce (MLCC) is an integral part of the World Lin Chamber of Commerce (WLCC), established with a vision to unite and empower the global ethnic Chinese community sharing the surname Lin. This initiative traces back to 1st May 2011 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where the concept of creating a worldwide network for the Lin surname was first endorsed by a Pro-tem Governing Council from 10 countries. This council reached a consensus to officially register the WLCC in Singapore, marking the birth of the worlds first surname-based chamber of commerce, bearing the registration number T12SS0082J.

The WLCC was conceived with the primary objectives of fostering unity among the ethnic Chinese with the Lin surname across the globe, promoting loyalty to their common ancestor Bigan, and enhancing the socio-economic well-being of its members. It aims to facilitate the development of industry, commerce, and overall economic prosperity, alongside nurturing cultural, educational, and community services within the Lin clans.

As a global non-profit platform, the WLCC enables Lin entrepreneurs and clansmen to participate in commercial, trade, and industry exchanges, thereby expanding their business footprints worldwide. It offers a variety of channels, including IT solutions, a dedicated website, exhibitions, and business exchange programs, to promote their ventures and forge valuable linkages and networks.

The establishment of the MLCC, alongside other national and regional Lin Chambers of Commerce, represents a strategic move to reach out to and consolidate the worldwide Lin community, which is estimated to comprise around 80 million individuals. These chambers serve as local nodes of the global network, facilitating the exchange of resources, knowledge, and opportunities among Lin entrepreneurs and professionals across different countries and regions.

Since its inception, the WLCC has embarked on an ambitious expansion plan, aiming to establish 50 Lin Chambers of Commerce by 2022 in various countries, provinces, and states. This expansion is supported by the distribution of the first Handbook on WLCC Guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures for setting up new chambers, ensuring a consistent and effective framework for the growth and operation of these entities.

The Malaysia Lin Chamber of Commerce (MLCC), specifically, plays a pivotal role in this ecosystem. Established on 27th December 2013, it serves as a testament to the WLCCs commitment to fostering economic growth, cultural preservation, and social cohesion among Lin clansmen in Malaysia and beyond. Through initiatives like business exchanges, cultural events, and educational programs, the MLCC enhances the visibility and influence of the Lin surname, contributing to the prosperity and unity of the global Chinese community.

In essence, the MLCC, as a vital component of the WLCC, embodies the spirit of solidarity, heritage, and advancement. It stands as a beacon for Lin clansmen in Malaysia and around the world, encouraging them to connect, collaborate, and thrive in an increasingly interconnected global landscape.
